An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller/Bookkeeper who has strong analytical, reconciliation and investigative knowledge to work within Davidson Brothers (Shotts) Limited.

The successful candidate will have a great attention to detail and be used to working with high volumes within a fast paced environment. It will be expected that the individual required will have excellent knowledge and abilities that they will be able to work within all aspects of the Finance Department reporting to the Company Accountant.

The role will involve but is not restricted to the following duties:

  • Managing a portfolio of accounts ensuring timely and effective collection of debts

  • Knowledge of account reconciliations

  • Knowledge of sales ledger allocations

  • Maintaining and strengthening relationships with internal and external customers

  • Daily sales ledger allocations

  • Reporting of overdue debts to management

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal for internal and external customers

  • Credit checking potential new clients

  • Providing cover for other accounts team members when absent or during high demand times

  • A willingness to develop as the department grows

  • Understanding Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet accounts would be an advantage

  • Ad hoc duties as required by the Accountant

Graduate Sales Trainee Roles

We are looking to recruit dynamic graduate sales nutritionists (Trainee) to complement our existing sales team. Your role will be to support our senior sales nutritionists, whilst being trained on how to manage and develop existing accounts, as well as sourcing new business. You will also be fully trained to be able to advise your customers on their livestock's nutritional needs.

We are currently looking for Graduates throughout Scotland especially in Lanarkshire and the Borders regions.

  • This role entails remote working with extensive travel, therefore a company car will be supplied along with a phone and laptop.

  • A BSc (Hons) in an agriculture-related course will give you an advantage. Alternatively, we will also consider applicants with science-based degrees who also have an agricultural livestock background.

  • You will be a self-motivated, confident, influential individual with a natural flair to influence people into your your way of thinking.

  • To be successful in our industry you will be totally focused, passionate and driven to be the best at everything you do.

  • You will also be an effective and supportive team player, fully IT literate and enjoy travel. Some sales experience would be helpful.

The successful applicant will receive intensive product and ruminant nutrition training, you will also be supported by an ongoing sales development programme.

Due to further expansion and increased volumes, we require Class 1 & 2 Bulk Blower drivers for day shift's for Monday to Friday and Friday to Monday. Full and part time permanent positions. Blower experience an advantage but full training will be given to suitable applicants.
